Quianna Crute – ‘Anthem’ featuring Canton Jones

Quianna Crute is a praise and worship leader, choreographer, minister, motivator, and believer, and as such always puts her faith first. At the same time however she is bold and adventurous when it comes to her music, dedicating herself to capturing a sound that reflects her personal relationship with Christ. Fusing urban music with gospel, and contemporary church sounds, Quianna does it with grace. ‘Anthem’, from her debut album, ‘Created To Worship’, shines brightly as she declares the glory of God – just like the heavens in Psalm 19 – and as the skies, she proclaims his work.

‘Anthem’ is radio-ready, with strong melodies which echo the psalm, and trap beats which push the entire song forward. Featuring a verse from Florida singer and rapper Canton Jones, a legend of Christian hip hop, the song is a sweet sweet fusion of styles while at the same time demonstrating an unshakeable faith in the almighty.

The video for ‘Anthem’ is as colourful as the song itself, with the lyrics appear in clouds set against a brilliant blue sky. It’s as though the words are a message from God Himself – and indeed they are – and we see Quianna, arms outstretched and eyes looking heavenward, as she prepares herself to receive what glory God has for her.

Canton Jones also appears in the clip, as well as members of Quianna’s congregation, outdoors, and all masked against Covid-19. They hold signs of testimony to the work of God in their lives, and their devotion is palpable. Likewise we see the utter conviction in the face of Quianna, who performs a dance of praise on a stone staircase. Even the hardest of hearts cannot fail to be moved by the conviction of faith and utter devotion of Crute, Jones, and their fellow believers.
