GO WEST Celebrating 35 Years Since Debut Top 5 Hit With 2021 UK Tour Featuring Full Live Orchestra And Special Guests Cutting Crew

It’s crazy to think that 2021 marks 35 years since Award-winning 80s pop icons Go West cracked the top 5 with their debut single, ‘We Close Our Eyes’. To commemorate the anniversary, Go West, along with very special guests Cutting Crew, will tour a string of UK live shows in May next year. The tour will also feature a full orchestra. Tickets are available now from here.

One of the most successful songwriting duos of the 80s, Go West was formed in 1982, and are Peter Cox on lead vocals, and Richard Drummie on guitar and backing vocals. Bursting onto the UK charts in 1985 with ‘We Close Our Eyes’, the band followed it up with a string of hits  including, ‘Call Me’, ‘Don’t Look Down’, ‘Goodbye Girl’, Faithful’, ‘Tracks Of My Tears’, and ‘King Of Wishful Thinking’, which featured on the soundtrack of the massive hit film, ‘Pretty Woman’. The track sold over 10 million copies worldwide, received an ASCAP Award, and was one of the most played songs on American Radio.

Their eponymously-titled debut album sold 1.5 million copies all over the world, and remained on the UK charts for 83 weeks. The music video for ‘We Close Our Eyes’, was directed by the legendary Godley & Crème, and saw Go West go on to win the People’s Choice Award at the 1986 BRITs for “Best British Newcomer”.

Celebrating 35 years of Go West launches May 2021 in Birmingham, London, Southend & Manchester.  These special, must see shows feature a full live orchestra and support from fellow 80s’ chart toppers Cutting Crew.

Go West will also spend September 2021 on a double headline tour with Paul Young, rescheduled from 2020 due to the pandemic.
