“Forget You Not” is a simple yet beautiful track that was inspired by the singer’s Nan. When writing the song, Darla’s Nan had began battling the thought of attending assessments for dementia. It’s a track that will pull on your heartstrings, but it will also make you think about what it’s like to have a loved one go through a heartbreaking illness that you have no control over.
Darla Jade’s vocals flow flawlessly over a heavenly piano medley. As the song touches on a touchy subject, some of the proceedings that comes from it will be going towards the Alzheimer’s Society. This charity means so much to Darla and she will also be putting on and hosting an event next May purely to raise funds for them!
“Forget You Not” is so touching, you just have to listen to it. Whether you know somebody fighting the same battle, or you’re lucky enough not to have experienced that yet, this song will sure hold a special place to anyone who hears it.
