Nuria Releases Latest Single, ‘Touch’

Hailing from the Australian state of Tasmania, pop singer songwriter Nuria writes music about the human experience; her latest single, ‘Touch’, released July 31, took its inspiration from those feelings of longing that have been brought about by the enforced isolation of COVID-19 lockdown. The song was recorded in her caravan home studio, and with further production work by Dave Crowe (aka Resin Moon), based in Alice Springs, The Northern Territory.

Speaking of the track, Nuria says,

“This is a song about nights out, desires and that yummy feeling of human touch. A few things we might be missing a little these days.”

Nuria means “fire of the lord” and the artist translates this into her music, with ‘Touch’ being punchy, yet sensual; exploring those feelings of physical desire as well as euphoria. Her music is keyboard-based, with an atmospheric quality about it reminiscent of several other Antipodean female vocalists, including Bic Runga, Christine Anu, Deborah Conway, and Natalie Imbruglia.

The soaring vocals and catchy rhythms of ‘Touch’ are a great introduction to Nuria and her music, with the singer releasing six singles ahead of her debut album. She has found considerable radio support from the likes of ABC Hobart, ABC Darwin, and Triple R, as well as international media attention on music blogs.

The simple electronic synth instrumental of ‘Touch’ is sufficient support for Nuria’s powerful vocals, which entrance and compel the listener.
