Jedward Wish Simon Cowell A Speedy Recovery After Hearing Of Terrible Accident

Jedward have tweeted their best wishes after hearing Simon Cowell has broken his back in an horrific bicycle accident. Cowell, who only recently stepped down from the helm of Syco Music, in order to focus on his TV shows, came a cropper while he was allegedly testing his new electric bicycle in the yard of his family‘s home, in Malibu, California.

It’s not been a good year for Cowell, with both Little Mix and Louis Tomlinson – the final member of One Direction still with Syco – leaving the record label. Although Cowell had other artists under his control, such as boyband Pretty Much, he’s never been able to replicate the same level of success. Additionally, Syco flagship TV programme X Factor UK was put on hiatus after falling ratings in 2018, and there seems to be no sign of the show being taken out of mothballs anytime soon.

Regular readers of EP will also recall Cowell was suggested by Jedward as having had a hand in the removal of their first single, ‘Under Pressure/Ice Ice Baby’ from all streaming services. Although a spokesperson for Cowell denied any involvement, it coincided with his leaving Syco Music.

Jedward would have been within their rights to ignore Cowell’s plight, but always the bigger people, their tweet seemed to show genuine concern for his injury:

As Edward Grimes is set to go into surgery himself next week for an operation on his knee, it remains to be seen if Cowell returns the good wishes.
