JHelix – ‘Baby Yellow (In A Dream)’

‘Baby Yellow’ (In A Dream)’ is the latest single from JHelix, and comes from his fevered musical imagination. The track sees the songwriter and producer take propulsive beats and pair them with the smoothest of psych guitar rhythms, which in combination with the dream experience music video, makes for a very pleasing few minutes away from our reality.

JHelix has used green screen techniques in his super-trippy video, along with confronting images – skeletons; characters which seem to be a cross between the stuff of nightmares and Japanese Noh figures; and eerie black and white footage – combined with spirits of the trees, spectral forests, wide oceans, and himself locked in a prison cell. These are all the product of JHelix’s own dreams, brought to life; and they really could be the sort of thing we all meet with in our slumbers.

When listened to separately from the video, ‘Baby Yellow (In A Dream)’ is a trippy sort of tune that might pleasantly cause you to doze a little, but when combined with the music video it becomes a crazy hazy psychedelic trip of a track with no rest in sight. That’s not to say it isn’t enjoyable – just a bit weird! You can be the judge yourself by watching the video for ‘Baby Yellow (In A Dream)’ below.
