Is It Just Me Or Is It Getting Hot In Here? Jedward Release New Single ‘Taste The Heat’ Following Music Video

‘Taste The Heat’, released today 24 July, through Universal, is the third single from Jedward’s 4th album, 2019’s ‘Voice Of A Rebel’, and follows on from the singles, ‘Soul Crushing’, and ‘Bodies In Action’.

An upbeat dance track, it combines just the right amount of 90s pop sensibilities with a modern EDM beat, making it both completely radio and club ready at the same time. The track’s release was preceded by a fantastic music video, shot in Los Angeles, which came out on Friday 17 July, and can be watched below:

Jedward - Taste The Heat

In both song and video Jedward demonstrate their maturity – the clip sees the twins considering what would happen if both fancied the same girl (a frequent twin dilemma we would imagine!), and was directed by John and Edward themselves, while the song is definitely well worth listening to through headphones to hear the multi-layered production – the album has been out for just over a year, during which time I’ve listened to it pretty much every day, and yet I’m still able to discover new aspects of the tracks that I’d not previously discovered. ‘Taste The Heat’ is no exception to this: if you focus on one part of the instrumental backing (the repeated ‘”squeaky” sound, or the horn like sounds) you discover just how complex the track is. Of course, given Jedward celebrate 11 years in the music business next month, and have always been very hands on when it comes to how their music is presented, it should come as no surprise that they’ve managed to master production as well.

‘Taste The Heat’ is out now through Universal, and was written and produced by John and Edward Grimes. It’s available to stream and download on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Google Play, and Amazon.
