Larkin Poe Release New Album ‘Self Made Man’

The sister-duo Larkin Poe has recently dropped their brand-new album “Self Made Man.” It is now available to stream on all major streaming platforms here

The album starts strong with the track ‘She’s A Self Made Man’ – which is the song that inspired the title of the album. This is an extremely empowering track to listen to. With its strong guitar riffs and ballsy lyrics, it’s sure to get you on your feet.

The flawless guitar playing is a theme throughout the entire album. It’s what makes it what it is. Pair that with the incredible vocals and catchy lyrics, this album really can’t be faulted. ‘Tears Of Blue To Gold’ is sure to be a personal favourite. The track flows so perfectly you find yourself subconsciously clapping along with it.

‘Danger Angel’, ‘Ex-Con’, and ‘Holy Ghost Fire’ certainly have more of an edge to them. Whilst tracks such as ‘Easy Street’ and ‘Back Down South’ have more of a light-hearted sound to them. Rebecca and Megan Lovell have a way of modernizing the blues genre, and it works perfectly! ‘Self Made Man’ was self-produced by the band themselves alongside a good friend of theirs called Roger Alan Nichols.

When talking of the album, Larkin Poe says;

This is, in a lot of ways, is the first lyrically uplifting record we’ve made,” Megan Lovell says. “People can go through terrible things. People can weather immeasurable sorrow and hard times, and yet we can still come out on the other side, pull ourselves together, and thrive. This record reflects some of the joy and positivity that we ourselves feel and appreciate.”

This is an album you don’t want to miss out on and we highly recommend that you go give it a listen! Be sure to follow Larkin Poe on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram for future updates.
