IVEEN – ‘Orion’

When IVEEN sits in front of her harp we know we’re about to hear something incredible. Her new single, ‘Orion’, doesn’t fail to deliver a sensory delight which is heightened by the accompanying visual.

Atlanta singer songwriter and harpist IVEEN defies the common perception of harps being used only for soft and angelic music; her approach is anything but delicate. She throws herself into her performances with aplomb; her compositions have led her and her harp into uncharted waters. IVEEN juxtaposes the organic sound of the harp with effects that are more often seen in the employ of rock guitarists. In her music she uses electronic programming, digital loops, and synths. Think the delicacy of the orchestra, combined with prog rock. ‘Orion’ is her first single, and is sure to create a buzz about what is yet to come.

Additionally, IVEEN is a world class singer, who is able to flash between pop immediacy, and the grace of classical style. She gives it her all on ‘Orion’, and draws her listeners in to her stories.

In ‘Orion’, IVEEN sings of looking to the stars to determine her fate; in the video the skies reply. We see IVEEN playing in a number of breathtakingly beautiful locations, such as a white sandy beach, a mountain top featuring pools of water, and we see meteors crashing from the heavens. All the while, IVEEN narrates with both voice and instrument and shares a dialogue between heaven and earth.

You can find IVEEN on Twitter, and Instagram. Watch the video for ‘Orion’ below.
