INTERVIEW – Bryan Lanning Chats About His New Single ‘Golden State of Mind’

Bryan Lanning is back on the scene with his incredible and touching new single ‘Golden State of Mind’. Definitely a track to add to your country playlist! The song can now be streamed on Spotify now.

Bryan has already built a large following through Youtube. His family channel ‘Daily Bumps’ has gained over 5 million subscribers! Here, Bryan shares daily vlogs of his beautiful wife and kids for his fans – and they can’t seem to get enough of it!

Although he loves creating videos with his family, he also has a passion for music. We recently got in touch with Bryan to talk about his musical endeavors and what it’s like going from Youtube star to musician. Here’s what he had to say:

Hey Bryan! I hope you and your family are safe and well. Why don’t you start by telling us a bit about your most recent single ‘Golden State of Mind’? How did it come about and what’s the inspiration behind it?

The track was really inspired about my love of Cali and my wife! If she really wants something, I’ve always been the person behind her rooting her on. I think when you love someone, you want to see them succeed. She’s always been that way to me and so naturally I have to return the favour.

Your album ‘Same Town’ will be coming out on the 3rd of July, which is exciting news! What can you tell us about it? Could you maybe tell us what your favourite track is and why?

‘Follow The Palm Trees’ home probably, because it’s about growing up with my sister and she really means a lot to me. My second favorite is probably ‘Love The Burn’ because it has so much energy!

You started your career in the entertainment industry quite differently. You started a Youtube channel where you share moments of you and your family to your ever-growing following. How are you finding the transition from Youtube creator to a musician? How do the two worlds differ?

I’ve always lived transparently with my fans and my family vlog was just another way to do that really. YouTube can be really fast-paced, whereas with music you have to really take your time and strategize. It’s been a nice change of pace honestly. I have a cool team behind me that helps.

There is no doubt that your family is going to be very supportive of your career. How are they finding this transition?

They’re rooting me on so hard and it’s the cutest thing. haha. My oldest son keeps showing me the places he wants to visit. I ultimately want to take them with me as much as possible.

Are there ever times where you get a creative block? Whether that be creating Youtube videos or writing songs? How do you overcome this?

Usually when I’m overworked yeah. You gotta have off time. For me, it spent laying in the sun listening to music or playing video games with kids.

I’ve asked you quite a few questions already but I want to know, what is the one question that you would like to be asked in an interview? And by all means, answer the question you come up with!

If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be and why? Hands down, Tori Kelly. Coincidently she’s from the same town I am (haha) so I was able to watch her go from singing in churches to singing on stage at award shows. She’s always just been an inspiration, watching the light and love she gives off to a people with her music. It’s a beautiful thing.

Finally, what are your plans for the rest of the year? What’s the future looking like for you?

Making more music, filming some music videos, gonna go see some old friends too! Maybe start a backyard tour, we’ll see!

Thank you so much to Bryan for having a chat with us! We wish him the best of luck with ‘Golden State of Mind’. Make sure you follow him on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to let him know what you think! He’s sure one to watch out for.
