The trio who make up Head Fake are a group of semi-anonymous artists who aren’t interested in personal glory; so much so that they barely choose to reveal their faces. Representing London, New Jersey, and Miami, the group prefer to let their music speak for itself and their latest track, ‘I’m Found’, certainly does speak.
The video for ‘I’m Found’, tells a love story of sorts. It’s obvious in the couple dancing, that they’re very much in love; but then you have the rodeo, with stable hands doing their job with passion, as well as the slow motion images of cowboys riding bulls; there’s also the daredevil motorcycle riders, risking life and limb: all love what they do, and who they’re with. On the surface these all seem like ordinary people, but on reflection, you realise this isn’t the case at all.
Musically, ‘I’m Found’ is a drawly, folky, Americana-tinged track, which gives the artists a chance to fully display their musical range, not to mention their passions. The latest track from their 5 song release, ‘EP2’, ‘I’m Found’ follows on from the swagger of ‘Cigarette’, and the tenderness of ‘Song For Daughters’. The group pay homage to such influences as The Rolling Stones and the Stone Roses, as well as blues and gospel; track is optimistic, irresistible, and seriously satisfying.
