4 Things To Hope For In The Future Marvel Cinematic Universe

There are certainly some big changes coming to the MCU. After the events of Endgame, there are lots of fans who are worried that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to struggle to stay awesome now that the key heroes are gone. Perhaps that explains why there’s been a rush to announce so many amazing new directions. From TV shows that will tie into the films and a whole new roster of both well-known and not-so-known characters set to appear on the small and large screen, Marvel is clearly aware of the need to shake things up. Here are some of the most exciting and nerve-wracking changes to come to the MCU in 2020 and beyond.

The Fantastic Four

When Disney managed to buy 21st Century Fox, they got some cool properties back into the fold. Kevin Feige has already announced that Marvel’s first family is going to have a presence in the future of the MCU, but that it’s going to be a wait. That hasn’t stopped fans from eagerly casting Reed and Sue Richards, Ben Grimm, and Johnny Storm. How they’ll be introduced is a mystery, but Richards could be the perfect replacement for Tony Stark.

The X-Men

The other property that now belongs to Marvel after the Fox buyout is everyone’s favourite mutants. There are already rumours that the WandaVision TV show (and it’s tie-in, Dr. Strange 2) are going to be the key to introducing mutants into the MCU. The challenge here is going to be casting the X-Men. Who is going to be able to replace Professor X? Should Wolverine be part of the line-up or should they stick to the original team? With the X-Men one of the most popular superhero franchises in the world, according to research carried out by CashLady it’s certainly going to be interesting to see how Feige copes with this huge task.

Silver Surfer and Galactus

Thanos was an amazing protagonist, and the next phase of the MCU is going to need another. Many people are pointing out that with the inclusion of the FF into the MCU, that means we’re incredibly likely to get some Silver Surfer and Galactus action on the big screen. It can’t be any worse than Fantastic Four or Rise of the Silver Surfer, especially if the fans and TV Over Mind have their way and Keanu Reeves is cast as Norrin Radd.

Moon Knight/She-Hulk

The TV side of things is clearly going to be adding a whole new angle to the universe. Along with the Disney+ TV shows we’ve got coming in the next two years, there’s also a huge slate of content coming to the small screen. A She-Hulk TV show based on her best stories is an excellent idea; however, it is going to be tough without a huge budget. The announcement of a Moon Knight TV show sent nerds into paralyzed joy, but there are already insistent demands that it be aimed at a more mature audience than the current MCU output. However, with more known names like Blade on the way too, Marvel is going to have a lot to play with.

With new cinematic directions with The Eternals, and a whole new line-up of characters to throw into the mix (even Red Hulk is being suggested), there’s still a lot to come from the MCU. Whether it can maintain its place as the king of the box office remains to be seen, but the future of the MCU certainly looks like being a lot of fun.
