Dave Grohl On 25 Years Of Foo Fighters

It’s Dave Grohl’s 51st birthday today, and Foo Fighters chose today to begin celebrations to mark their 25th anniversary as a band.

Posting on their social media, Foo Fighters said the following on Twitter:

It’s been three years since the release of their last album, ‘Concrete And Gold‘, and what better occasion to release a new album than their 25th year, 2020. Speaking to RockSound.TV about the prospect last year, drummer Taylor Hawkins said that they hoped “to have a new record by next year”. Both Hawkins, and guitarist Chris Shiflett have been working on solo/other projects during that time, while Dave Grohl has been lending his services to other bands – including Taylor Hawkins And The Coattail Riders. On the Blairing Out With Eric Blair Show, speaking about the new album, Grohl said,

“I don’t want to give away too much, but… we’re, like, right in the middle of it right now”
