Washington DCs Bencoolen premiered their latest single, ‘Give It Up’, in Vents Magazine. The follow up to their cover of Tom Misch’s song, ‘Beautiful Escape‘, which was released in September, the new track also features a video shot in-studio, and the clip starts with black and white shots before transitioning into full colour, as the band establish the pace of the song.
With a distinctive blend of funk and soul meets rock, Bencoolen’s sound results in a spark that takes off, particularly on stage. It’s this cohesive electricity, if you will, of their instruments – drums, guitar, bass, and saxophone, each interlocking while maintaining their individual elements – which has given them the reputation for being an unmissable event on the DC live music scene.
