Alexa Friedman Doesn’t Suffer Fools Gladly With New Single ‘Take Me Down’

For her previous release, ‘Meant To Be’, pop singer Alexa Friedman was a mermaid in the music video. With the video for her latest single, ‘Take Me Down’, she’s chosen to address a different fantasy altogether, this time of a martial arts master and deadly swords-woman. With first a mermaid – the siren of the sea luring unwary seamen to their doom – and now a kick-ass ninja, you get the feeling that Friedman doesn’t suffer fools gladly.

‘Take Me Down’ is a showcase for Friedman’s talent, who made her debut in 2017 with her single, ‘Enrapture’. In the new track she raps a bit as well as sings, and shows off some facets of her ever-blooming artistry, wielding it all with a swagger and self-confidence.

This confidence extends to the video as well, with Friedman showing all too well that she’s not just able to handle a katana with ease, but additionally she’s no slouch when it comes to fisticuffs. For the video, her fight sequences are complicated, but well shot, and although she’s in constant danger throughout the clip, she overpowers all her opponents impressively. Her triumph in the end sees her unmask her principal adversary – revealing a surprise that adds further depth to a video which is already hugely entertaining.
