JP COOPER Enlists STEFFLON DON and BANX & RANX For New Single ‘THE REASON WHY’

British singer-songwriter JP Cooper follows the rapid success of debut album ‘Raised Under Grey Skies’ with ‘The Reason Why’ featuring Stefflon Don and Banx & Ranx – his second single this year.

‘The Reason Why’ is an island-flavoured fusion of breezy sounds and passionate lyrics which tell a tale of irresistible desire. The track’s addictive, sultry guitar strums burn in the background of the mellow and alluring dancehall-infused beat, helmed by Banx & Ranx (Dua Lipa / Sean Paul / David Guetta).

UK rap star Stefflon Don elevates the track with her signature panache during her guest verse, with the two coming together flawlessly in the song’s unforgettable chorus: “Sugar, don’t you know that you’re the reason why I get up in the morning?” JP croons in the chorus alongside luscious harmonising with Stefflon Don.

About ‘The Reason Why’, JP says:

“I’m so happy to finally be releasing this track. It’s been kicking around on a hard drive for quite some time now, but it never quite felt finished…until Stef got on board. Banx & Ranx have brought their signature island vibe and Stef’s presence on the record offers the prefect juxtaposition to my delivery. This is why I love collaboration so much!”

‘The Reason Why’ follows JP’s previous single ‘Sing It With Me’ featuring pop sensation Astrid S, which has racked up a phenomenal 55 million streams since its May 2019 release date. Both tracks further establish JP as one of UK music’s most exciting and versatile names, thanks to his natural ability to craft uplifting and infectious earworms with a sincerity that resonates with any audience. A deft songwriter and a singer with soulful brilliance, JP Cooper has a rich era-spanning appreciation of music, and an innate need to turn life experiences into narrative.

The star has two UK Top Ten singles to his name: the Jonas Blue smash ‘Perfect Strangers’, which he co-wrote, and the inescapable radio hit ‘September Song’ (which has had over 600 million streams worldwide). JP has since notched up an incredible 10 million single units worldwide, a whopping 9.4 million monthly Spotify listeners and an extraordinary 2.4 billion streams. His UK Top Ten album also contained the infectious, ‘She’s on My Mind’, the gospel tinged, soaring ‘Passport Home’ and ‘Momma’s Prayers’ a collaboration with Stormzy.

No stranger to the live arena, ‘The Reason Why’ comes as JP rounds up his string of sold out headline dates across the UK and Europe. JP has sold out shows at London’s most famous venues including The Village Underground, KOKO, O2 Forum Kentish Town, O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, Heaven and Roundhouse.

JP has his sights firmly set on reclaiming his masterful crown, with more new music pencilled to be released before the year is through.
