Grimass – ‘In Silence’

Grimass’ new single, ‘In Silence’, featuring Shifta, is the epitome of what rap fans are looking for in the southern scene. The Miami-based vocalist has a style whose vocals virtually hit the listener across the face; ‘In Silence’ is aggressive, confronting, and yet at the same time, worthy of icon status.

The Caribbean infused influences from Shifta’s vocals adds a subtle nuance not seen before in Grimass’ work, and the singer takes pride in his Jamaican roots, giving the track exactly the right amount of dancehall patois to the song.

The video sees the artists telling a real story to go along with the lyrics. We see Grimass and Shifta confidently sharing the vocals, but the video also cuts away to depict a narrative of how Grimass and his Miami community get together to take down a punk who evaded the cops and more importantly, harmed his love interest. The music video does a great job of furthering Grimass’ message that trying to mess with him is not a very good idea at all.
