MNEK has teamed up with Pride In Music to celebrate Pride in style by hosting an LGBTQ+ music writing camp set to take place on the 4th-5thJuly.
The writing camp will see a variety of producers, artists, writers and engineers come together across two days to work on brand new music and to encourage the unity of the LGBTQ+ community. Speaking highly of the camp, MNEK – who organised and is set to host the event – had this to say:
“I’ve set up this camp to have a couple days specifically for Pride but to also invite some LGBT talent that I really rate to collaborate with each other. The community is so creative and full of really gifted writers and producers so I’m really excited that we are getting to come together, be there for each other and make music for this camp!”
The camp will feature a wide range of artists including; Olly Alexander, L Devine, Ryan Ashley, Rina Sawayama and Kloe. All of which will be working alongside producers Jon Shave, Leo Kalyan and Sakima. The purpose of the event is to inspire and support LGBTQ+ artists and see them come together to create some amazing music. It also gives upcoming artists within the community a chance to work with established artists and writers.
Pride in Music is a cross-industry network for the LGBTQ+ community, focussing on artists and allies working within British music. It is an incredible UK charity that aims to provide a support network to breakdown stereotypes for young and upcoming musicians within the LGBTQ+ community and help them find their voice within the industry.
