Arthur Pri¢e – ‘Dark Days’

Taking his inspiration from everyday life, Arthur Pri¢e is originally from San Francisco, but now makes his home in Alameda, just outside of Oakland. He doesn’t consider himself to be a “Bay Area” musician, but instead feels his music has its very own style – unique and experimental.

He started a small band with his friends when still very young, after his Dad bought him a drum set. He took his inspiration from the likes of Eminem, Method Man, and Red Man, as well as modern favourites like Drake and Travis Scott, and started writing lyrics while still in high school. A friend provided beats, and with Pri¢e freestyling, a song was born.

Arthur now feels ready to share his music with the world, and his song, ‘Dark Days’ is the first of many, complete with a music video. He describes the track as being about

“not having enough time to do what I want to do, but pushing my limits to move forward in life.”

Indeed, the song and video deal with the demons he faces in his life: be it girls, or substances. Working with long time friend and director, Jack Boston, the clip was shot over two days in a warehouse in Santa Cruz. We see Arthur fighting multiple versions of himself, representing his struggles. In his own words, Arthur aimed high, and consequently the video turned out better than he had hoped.
