Still only 18 years old, Ella Wylde is a skilled guitarist and piano player, whose talent inspired A&R manager Drew Dixon to open the 9th Floor Music record label, with Ella as first signing.
Dixon, who also produced Ella’s single, ‘Rich Girl’, has worked with a slew of music’s greats, including Lauryn Hill, John Legend, Whitney Houston, and Kanye West, and so when she discovered Ella after taking part in the #MeToo Silence Breaker Movement, she was caught by Ella’s superstar qualities.
Based in Brooklyn, Ella’s star is rising, and she draws influence from the likes of artists classic and contemporary, such as Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and Ariana Grande.
‘Rich Girl’, is Ella’s homage to the Hall & Oates classic, taking the title and chorus from the song, but adding her own twist, with hooky melodies and her own strong soulful voice belying her tender years. It’s accompanied by a music video which is as much a short film as a video clip, allowing Ella to show her dramatic skills as well as her musical talents.
