Red Rum Club – ‘Honey’

‘Honey’ from alt-rock Liverpool sextet Red Rum Club runs out of the gate straight from the start and doesn’t ever give up.

The single has a Tex-Mex, High Noon flavour, thanks to the slick bass and fast strummed guitars (Think ‘Apache’ by The Shadows) as well as some scorching trumpets. The instrumentals coalesce perfectly with the vocals, the end result a sharp, if short, burst to the senses, which is by no means an assault, but a pleasure.

‘Honey’ is from Red Rum Club’s album, ‘Matador’, released through Modern Sky, and can be streamed and downloaded here. Find Red Rum Club online on Facebook.
