Marianas Trench Release Video For ‘Glimmer’ – Latest Track From Mult-Award Winning Canadian Band

The Canadian multi-platinum selling progressive pop band Marianas Trench have just issued a video for the song ‘Glimmer’, which is included on their new album, ‘Phantoms’.

A fan favourite live on stage and via streams, it telegraphs the sense of abandonment and loss that focussed the songwriting of lead singer Josh Ramsay from the outset. Seeing the new record as a space possessed by the spirit of a  lingering, unforgettable loss, he explains:

“I was basically thinking about someone falling into madness while living in a house haunted by the ghost of a former love. As dark as that sounds, for me that also means a rebirth and comes from a healthy place. I was looking for inspiration and read a ton of Edgar Allen Poe. I was also inspired by the Netflix series ’The Haunting Of Hill House’ and the idea that ghosts mean different things to different people and can also represent hope.”

‘Glimmer’ follows the recent announcement of the band’s Suspending Gravity European tour, which commences in Newcastle on November 6th for the first of eight UK shows before the group head into mainland Europe.

Marianas Trench have consistently raised the musical bar both in the studio and via their explosive live shows. They have built their name on relentless touring across North America and globally, headlining tours in the USA, Canada, the UK, mainland Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

In addition to forming and fronting Marianas Trench, Josh Ramsay is a successful producer and writer for a wide range of other artists that include Carly Rae Jepsen, 5 Seconds Of Summer, Simple Plan, Faber Drive, Emily Osment and Nickelback.

Working primarily out of a studio he owns in Vancouver, he can play 13 instruments and often performs everything on the songs he produces.

One of his most successful works is ‘Call Me Maybe’ by Carly Rae Jepsen, which was nominated for a Grammy, and recently saw Ramsay, along with Jepsen and co-writer Tavish Crowe, presented with an award for the single as the most played Canadian song over the past 30 years.
