Coombe Weekender Festival Promises Entertainment For Every Taste This August!

Located against the backdrop of the historical 12th century Cistercian Coombe Abbey, and covering its entire expansive grounds, the Coombe Weekender will be held on 3-4 August,  and will bring indie, rock, pop, funk and dance music to 20,000 people.



This August Coventry welcomes a brand new festival, Coombe Weekender. The historical backdrop of Coombe Abbey will provide the musical build up to Coventry winning City of Culture for 2021. The offering will be as diverse as the local area with acts running through funk, soul, disco, indie and pop music over a two-day event brought to life by Midlive Entertainment.

Saturday sees The Libertines headline with what is potentially their only performance of 2019, while Sunday sees Sigala and more on main stage with Crazy P Soundsystem, Joey Negro plus more in The Big Top.

Tickets for the festival, which takes place on August 3rd and 4th, include day tickets, which start at £29.50 and weekend tickets at £70. Family and VIP tickets are also available.

Offstage entertainment will come from a food village, bars and day time activities creating a friendly event for people of all ages.

On Saturday, in addition to The Libertines, who are one of the most exciting, chaotic rock’n’roll groups of the past 20 years, festival-goers will see singer-songwriter Tom Grennan, Circa Waves, Reverend & The Makers, The Futureheads, Good Cop, Bad Cop and local heroes Athens, Candid, BLVFF also support.

Crystal Waters, who are best known for the 90’s hit ‘Gypsy Woman’ will be performing in The Big Top, with further artists to be announced.

Sunday takes party goers on through a pop and electronic journey with mainstage headline act to be announced alongside Sigala, who’s been featured a mammoth six times in the UK singles chart. Further mainstage support comes from Toploader, The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show, Fleur East, Loyal, and local support JD Free Radio.

The Big Top Tent sees a performance from the talented Crazy P Soundsystem,  with further support from disco legend Joey Negro.

Numerous other areas of entertainment come from Raver Tots who will provide children of all ages the opportunity to bust a move. The food village will host food from all corners of the globe, providing larger meals and snacks throughout the day and evening with bars covering every corner of the site ensuring all attendees are fully watered.
