LIGHTS BRINGS AWARD-WINNING ALBUM SKIN&EARTH TO THE UK FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS MONTH FOR HEADLINE TOUR

Canadian Alt/pop artist Lights is bringing her fourth studio album ‘Skin&Earth’ to the UK for the first time, and heading out on a UK tour. She will kick things off on 21st May at Manchester’s Night And Day, and make her way around venues in cities including London’s Garage on the 23rd May, before making her debut appearance at Slam Dunk Festival in Leeds and Hatfield. Lights will then wrap things up at Glasgow’s King Tut’s on 28th May. 3 shows out of 4 are now SOLD OUT. Lights is also set to appear at Comic Con on 24th May, at London’s ExCeL.

Following the release of her collaboration with fellow Canadian, deadmau5, ‘Drama Free’, which also features on Netflix film, ‘Polar’, Lights joined the acclaimed DJ/producer on stage at Ultra Music Festival in Miami last month. Catch all the action, here. It has also just been announced that Lights will be heading out with deadmau5, as a featured guest on his U.S tour this Autumn. Buy tickets here.

‘Skin&Earth’ is the Canadian singer/songwriter’s most ambitious project yet, and was released alongside a graphic novel series of the same name.

It was created, written and illustrated in full by Lights and went on to win her second consecutive JUNO Award, for Pop Album of the Year. ‘Skin&Earth’ features anthemic tracks with accompanying videos ‘Giants‘, ‘Savage’, ‘Skydiving’ and ‘New Fears‘, which all bring her comics to life, with Lights assuming the role of the story’s lead. It is also currently being developed for live action television by Entertainment One.

About the author

There’s a lot of music out there - good music. At Essentially Pop our remit is that we cover music that deserves to be heard, with a particular focus on independent artists. That doesn't mean we won't cover your old favourites - rather we hope to give you some new favourites as well.

We no longer accept unpaid PR agency work. We believe the creative arts have value, and this includes writing. As always, we will write about artists who contact us - or who we contact - for free - but we can no longer work free of charge for PR agencies. We work hard, we put in a lot of hours writing, and we ask that you respect that. Contact us for our very reasonable rates.
