#Jedward Tease New Song ‘Teenage Runaway’ With Lyrics Tweet

Jedward have released the lyrics to ‘Teenage Runaway’, one of 21 new songs from their upcoming album, ‘Voice Of A Rebel’ which is set for release this summer.

‘Teenage Runaway’, comes ahead of their UK tour, which commences this Friday, May 10, with two consecutive nights at historic Manchester venue, The Factory. They will also perform at Camden Assembly, in London, on 13 and 14 May, before finishing the six date tour at another legendary venue, The Garage Glasgow, on 15 and 16 May. Further information is available by following the links to the venues.

Tweeting late last night, the Dublin duo posted:

‘Teenage Runaway’ digs deeply into the emotional outlook of someone who’s been misjudged and misunderstood. The lyrics are very relatable – whether you’re a teenager or much older, we’ve all been in situations where no matter how hard we try, people don’t get us – and we want to run away to somewhere that we can be free to be ourselves. It’s not necessarily a physical place, it can also be metaphorical; we can run away into a book or a film for example.

Jedward explained the meaning behind the song on Twitter today:

‘Teenage Runaway’ is about trusting your own instinct & taking your own unique path to get away from what people pressure u to be in life & not letting society wash your colour out & no matter what age u are you’ll always be a Teenage Runaway & your choices shaped who you are today x

‘Teenage Runaway’ is one of five titles John and Edward have mentioned in connection with the album. Speaking late last month to RTÉ they said,

“Some song titles include ‘Soul Crushing’ which is a heartbreak song. ‘Bodies in Action’ and ‘Follow My Whispers’ have a more sensual romantic vibe.

“‘Teenage Runaway’ and ‘Phoenix Wings’ are shots of energy and really uplifting that will pick you up.”

‘Voice Of A Rebel’ will be Jedward’s fourth album. They recently signed a five year recording contract with Universal Music. No date as yet has been given for its release.
