The Lumineers Release New Single, Announce Album, And World Arena Tour

The Lumineers return after the triumph of their UK and US number 1 album, ‘Cleopatra’, with their third studio album, ‘III’, set for release on Decca Records on September 13. The two-time Grammy nominated band have also today released their new single, ‘Gloria’, the first single from the album. It comes ahead of the song’s first UK performance tonight on BBC One’s ‘Graham Norton Show’ tonight.

‘III’ is a concept album, presented across three chapters, with every aspect of the album charged with emotion, and far darker than anything The Lumineers have ever done before. Each part centres on one main character from a fictitious family, The Sparks, spanning three generations in the album’s storyline. They mix raw emotionally charged themes, with ear catching melodies, expressive vocals, and their trademark acoustic sound.

‘III’ was written by founding members Wesley Schultz and multi-instrumentalist Jeremiah Fraites, and sees violinist/vocalist Lauren Jacobson officially becoming part of the band, after having played on their two previous albums. She completes the touring lineup, which also includes pianist Stelth Ulvang, bassist/backing vocalist Byron Isaacs, and multi-instrumentalist, Brandon Miller.

Regarding the new album, Fraites said,

“This collection of songs worked out in a beautiful way, and I feel with this album we’ve really hit our stride.”

The Lumineers have sold out tours all over the world, including selling over 300,000 tickets on 2017’s ‘Cleopatra World Tour’, which finished with 27 sold out arena shows. They have racked up over 4.2 billion streams, and 4.6 million album sales worldwide across their entire discography.

The Lumineers have supported the likes of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers at British Summer Time Hyde Park in 2017, and will this May embark on a tour of the US and Europe, and Australia, with shows in 3 UK arenas, including London’s O2 Arena, before winding up on November 29 at the 3 Arena, in Dublin, Ireland.
