Sebastian Mikael – ‘Acid Part II’

Brooklyn based RnB singer Sebastian Mikael brings us some mesmerising and intoxicating music with his new release, ‘Acid Part II’, from his latest project, I C U U C ME PT II’. ‘Acid Part II’ captures in its video clip the heat and hedonism of the song, as well as the poise and natural swagger of Mikael himself.

Sebastian Mikael first came to wider attention with his acclaimed ‘Speechless’ album in 2014, and although his influences, which include Maxwell, D’Angelo, and newer avant-R&B artists like Anna Wise, Anderson.Paak, and Kelela, are still evident, he’s developed his own sound and style. ‘Acid Part II’ may just be over 2 minutes long, but even in its brevity it’s a fabulous mix of artistry. Synths, piano, beats – both machine and hand percussion – sax, and bass all come together with enthusiastic harmonies and nearly wordless chanting.

The video shows Sebastian in an a club performance; the people are dressed superbly, with confidence and grace oozing from every pore. Audience and artist merge together, as everyone is swept up in the rapture he’s creating.
