Netflix Original Series ‘The Umbrella Academy’ Renewed For Second Season

It has been officially announced that Netflix have renewed ‘The Umbrella Academy‘ for a second season, with the cast – comprising Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin Min – reprising their roles. Further casting news for season two will be announced at a later date.

Also returning will be Steve Blackman (known for ‘Fargo’, and ‘Altered Carbon’), as Showrunner and Executive Producer, with other Executive Producers alongside him including Jeff F. King, Mike Richardson, and Keith Goldberg. Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, who respectively wrote and illustrated the web comic on which the Netflix series is based, return as Co-Executive Producers.

The season two order includes ten one-hour episodes, and will be produced by Universal Content Productions (UCP) for Netflix. Production on season 2 of ‘The Umbella Academy’ will commence this summer, in Toronto, Canada.
