HEЯITAGE – ‘Fashion Slayer’

‘Fashion Slayer’ from HEЯITAGE – aka Gianluca Gibbons and Hannah Eggen – is the follow up to their previous release, ‘Speak Life’, their gorgeous cover of the Damian Marley song. Now the Bermudians who make their home in Los Angeles, are feeling good in their “Chelsea suedes, skinny jeans and Armani shades”.

This track, unlike ‘Speak Life’, is an original for HEЯITAGE, and is the lead single from their latest album, ‘The Color Blue’. Hannah Eggen sings in a conversational style, while Gianluca Gibbons has a swagger that’s got enough sweetness to let the listener know he doesn’t take himself very seriously at all. It’s a pop and RnB crossover track, with a great funky guitar, and a really stretchy bass line that goes on for days. It’s electric and eclectic, and turns your impressions upside down and back to front – not unlike the letter “R” in the band’s name.
The video for ‘Fashion Slayer’, shot by Allison A. Waite, gives the pair the chance to show off their favourite threads, and they’re also dressed by daring LA stylists, Jerris Madison, and Phillip Keophaphone. Altogether, the clip is a celebration of both HEЯITAGE’s music, and an homage to the joys of fashion.
