Female Trio Spring City Set To Release New Single, ‘By The Fire’

Swedish trio Spring City will release their latest single, ‘By The Fire’, tomorrow, April 12.

Comprising Annielle, Noomi, and Miah, the collective have each released solo material in the past, but now combine their formidable voices in order to transform their performance.

‘By The Fire’ is reminiscent of another Scandinavian female act, Katzenjammer, with Spring City’s harmonies close but not so close that the three voices are not individually distinct.

‘By The Fire’, is written by Erik Anjou – known for his work with 2015 Eurovision winner Conchita, and Mikael Kullén, who has previously written and produced for Spring City’s Noomi. The track speaks about the hardships of being human; the quest for love and to be loved is one we all face – if we stand by the fire, why do we feel so cold? The pain is conveyed through stunning vocals blended with a powerful melody.

All three members of Spring City come from Malmbäck, and they got their start singing in church choirs. ‘By The Fire’ follows their previous release, ‘Back On Our Streets’, with which the trio entered and won P4 Nästa (“P4 Next”), a Swedish singing competition run by Swedish radio station, P4.

Describing the latest single, Spring City say it grew as a process of adding and enhancing, starting out with a lead vocal, which then turned into rich harmonies, and a well-established background beat, becore becoming the final product.

‘By The Fire’ will be available to stream and download across all major digital streaming platforms, tomorrow April 12. You can find Spring City online on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SoundCloud, and Spotify.
