Boy George’s protégé Jamie Hannah returns with his emotionally charged breakout single ‘Sound of My Youth’. The track’s emphatic lyricism combine artfully with the paired down musicality of the track in a truly natural way, creating a song that is honest, and raw, and real.
‘Sound of My Youth’ gives Hannah the opportunity to showcase the extent of his vocal range and highlights his intuitive understanding of tempo and dynamics. His voice crescendos and diminuendos throughout the track, traversing the difficult subject matter of the song sensitively and adeptly.
The vocal control that Hannah displays is perhaps not surprising given his position as an alumnus of the prestigious Royal College of Music. It was here that he trained in Opera and began to hone his songwriting talents. From the Royal College he headed to the studio where he was introduced to producer extraordinaire Benny D and world renowned musician Boy George.
Having spent 2018 working and creating in the studio, Hannah is now ready to release new music and get back to performing. With new music already on the horizon, and his upcoming tour supporting legend Heather Small, 2019 is set to be a busy year for this up-and-coming musician and performer.
