The Dead Daisies – ‘Dead And Gone (Swamp Version)’

The Dead Daisies have been forging their own path to success since 2013, and currently comprise guitarist Doug Aldrich, singer John Corabi, bassist Marco Mendoza, drummer Deen Castronovo, and rhythm guitarist David Lowy. Their latest single, ‘Dead And Gone (Swamp Version)‘ is from the tv horror series, ‘Welcome To Daisyland‘.

‘Welcome To Daisyland’ is a horror anthology series set behind the gates of the Daisyland Carnival, a music & mayhem shadow show. The carnival is a small but legendary one that began its run sometime in the early 1970s. No one knows for sure exactly when, only that is has appeared every fall, across the country in a series of vacant lots and overgrown fields, far from the reach of city lights and the law.
Once the gates have closed and all the patrons have gone home, the cast of the carnival comes to life. Each member of the troupe has a dark gift and job to fulfill, as Daisyland is a place for the collection of souls.
Daisyland is open from dusk to dawn. Where dreams come true, and nightmares begin.
‘Welcome To Daisyland’ has been directed by award-winning filmmaker, Tony E Valenzuela, known for his work on ‘Silverwood’, and ‘Harpers Globe’. It stars Pepi Sonuga, whose best known performance is in ‘Ash Vs The Evil Dead’.
David Edwards, who is the executive producer of the TV show, as well as The Dead Daisies’ manager said,
“I’m tired of hearing the same Top 40 music in the background of every film and kept thinking, ‘This scene would be so much better with a heavy rock track’, so we made it happen.” On deciding to go with a horror series, Edwards added: “Horror and rock go hand in hand. Alice Cooper started combining the two back in the 70’s with his crazy theatrics and it’s a genre we love.”

The sountrack for ‘Welcome To Daisyland’ features music from The Dead Daisies’ most recent album, ‘Burn It Down’, which was released through Spitfire Music, in April last year. Included on the record were the tracks ‘Judgement Day’, title track ‘Burn It Down’, and ‘Dead And Gone’, which is the theme song for the series.

‘Dead And Gone (Swamp Version’, is a special acoustic version of the theme song, and was released on February 14, across all digital platforms. The video clip shows the band relaxed and having fun – in concert, at meet and greets, and just generally kicking back.
