Singer-Songwriter Tom Goss delivers his latest single ‘Wake Alive’

Originally from Wisconsin but now based in Los Angeles, singer songwriter Tom Goss released his latest single, ‘Wake Alive’ yesterday, 26 March.

His alternative rock sound is a nod to indie ballads, with a gravelly vocal that is some parts Tom Waits and other parts Bruce Springsteen, and a singer songwriter lyrical style reminscent of Damien Rice, who is one his inspirations, which also include Ben Folds Five, Dave Matthew Band, David Gray, and Seal.

The hard htting ‘Wake Alive’ still has a vulnerability that speaks about how we aim to please each other, putting the needs of others before our own. It’s the latest track from the prolific Goss, who has already released seven studio albums, and has a faithful following, who have seen him perform at thousands of shows across the USA, Canada, and Europe.

Tom Goss started out as a wrestler in college, later studying to become a Catholic priest. While in the seminary he became disillusioned with the church, and after coming out as gay, channelled his passion into music.

Tom’s music has been featured on HBO and ABC, and he’s amassed more than 12 million views on his music videos, which are inventive and engrossing. The clip for ‘Wake Alive’ features Tom and a variety of others projected onto boxes, symbolising the images that we allow others to have of us. Later they all break free of the boxes, revealing their true selves.

‘Wake Alive’ is available now to stream and download here. You can find out more about Tom Goss online on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and SoundCloud.
