Malea – ‘Hero’

We most recently wrote about Malea back in October, but we’ve been following her musical career for a number of years now. Her latest single, ‘Hero’, shows that heroes are sometimes right around us, we just have to look for them.

Based in LA, Malea is an immensely talented artist with a great passion for her craft. Best known for her electronic pop, her singles ‘Give’, and ‘One Hot Mess’ took the Billboard Club Charts by storm, while her single, ‘Swept Away’ saw her show off her roots in the confessional, singer-songwriter tradition. She’s also classically trained, with a background in Broadway, and she’s been recognised in Billboard magazine for her work on and off the stage – she additionally helps to promote awareness of animal rights. Truly, Malea is making the world a better place.
‘Hero’ is dedicated to those Malea has seen all around her. Those who not just perform truly extraordinary actions, but also those who see the extraordinary in ordinary ones. In the video, we see a rancher save a horse from a fire; indigenous people protecting their land; people cleaning up a beach; and many others, groups and individuals, being real heroes. Malea herself appears in the clip, alternating between Downtown Los Angeles, and in the charred remains of the Woolsey Fires in Malibu. The focus however is not on her, but on the ones who take the risks, who work hard, to help those who need it.
Visit Malea’s official website for further information about the artist and her music.
