Watch The Video For Rak Su’s Song, ‘Into It’ From New EP, ‘Rome’ Out Today

X-Factor winners Rak-Su are back with their new four track EP ‘Rome’ out today.

‘Rome’ sees the group return to their signature sound and where they know they do best – pop infused with reggaeton, rap and R&B. Lead track ‘Into It’, which comes with an upbeat and energetic, dance infused music video, delivers a throwback sound reminiscent of what their fanbase fell in love with.

In addition to drawing on their own musical tastes, the EP also reflects their individual life experiences. For Jamaal, it’s growing up singing gospel in church in Barbados, where he lived until the age of 14, and this can be heard in second and third tracks, ‘Thunder’, and the R&B ‘Stick Around’. For Mustafa, a lifetime spent winning beatboxing contests. And for rappers Ashley, and Myles, it’s a reflection of the grime and trap they made together in their mid-teens – fans of this sound will really enjoy track 4, ‘Blood Ties’.

Speaking about their music, Rak-Su said,

People don’t realise that before X Factor we were together as a band making music we loved & were inspired by. This EP allowed us to show some of the other sides to us… you get R&B, electronic, Afro-Caribbean Rak-Su. Fun, emotional, honest, party Rak-Su. We feel it’s a well-rounded snap shot into who we are both musically and as people.

Rak-Su were originally championed by DJ Target, at 1 Xtra, and they then went on to win X Factor 2017 with their own song – the first act to ever do so. Their single, ‘Dimelo’, was released in 2018, and featured Naughty Boy, and Wyclef Jean, and the contagious Latin-pop track soared to the number 2 spot in the singles chart.
