Otherkin Bury The Past With Brand New Single, ‘Tombstone’

Dublin rockers Otherkin return with their brand new single, ‘Tombstone’, the first release since their 2017 debut album, ‘OK’. The track showcases a new sound for the band, and has been a co-production between Otherkin and Steve Dub, best known for his work with The Chemical Brothers. It was recorded at The Toy Rooms in Brighton, UK, and mixed by Jolyon Vaughan Thomas, who’s worked with Royal Blood, Slaves, and U2.

Speaking about the release, Otherkin said,

We decided to take some of the tension, the mental strain and the stress from the last few years and do something creative with it; something that feels new to us, something that subverts other people’s and our own expectations of what we can do. All that remains won’t be the same.

‘Tombstone’ is a fast and furious rock song, and features a sinister looking music video shot in Dublin (you can see the twin towers of Poolbeg in the distance), involving front man Luke Reilly seemingly running for his life from three masked men, who are chasing him with a classic 60s American car. It’s grungy, it’s ballsy and it’s loud – three things which we enjoy immensely – and there’s a twist at the end that we won’t give away.

‘Tombstone’ was released via Rubyworks on February 8, and is the first of a series of songs the band will be releasing during spring and summer. They also expect to announce new shows in the near future.

You can find out more about Otherkin online on their official website, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

UK fans can see Otherkin at Electrowerkz London on March 29. Tickets and further information are available here. Stream and download ‘Tombstone’ here, and watch the music video:
