Kelly Padrick – ‘Waiting For This’

Starting her songwriting career at the age of five – yes you read that right – Kelly Padrick eventually moved to New York, in order to pursue her passion in the independent music scene. Her songs have featured in movie soundtracks, and TV shows, while she’s also released a dozen and albums and EPs. Kelly finds her inspiration in everything: from doodles on schoolwork from when she was a child, to her current heartbreaks; any situation or emotion is enough to spark her creativity. Citing her major influence as Dolly Parton, Kelly Padrick’s music is authentically passionate, with a natural sexiness, and more than just a hint of attitude.

The video for Kelly’s latest song, ‘Waiting For This’, was directed by Patricia Chica, and starts off in a Great Gatsby style party, filled with friends, and plenty of drinks flowing. Scenes flit back and forth between the party and a dozen tv monitors, whose screens are filled with black and white static, old memories, and even Padrick’s old music videos. Lyrically, the story is of one moving on, getting ready to start a new life without someone in theirs. It’s a tale of emotional freedom, about allowing yourself to break free from the familiar, where you might be comfortable, but not growing as a person.
