Future Releases Single, ‘Crushed Up’ Ahead Of New Album

Atlanta hip hop superstar Future is launching into 2019 like a rocket with his new single and music video, ‘Crushed Up’. Set for release on January 11, it comes ahead of his as yet unnamed seventh full length album, which drops on the 18th, via Epic Records, a division of Sony Music.

‘Crushed Up’ is characterised by Future’s slick wordplay and bars, and includes a woozy chant over glimmering keys, and 808s as cold as ice. The pioneering trendsetter spits out eminently quotable lyrics such as “Diamonds in your face/crushed up/I can see ’em”, and matches it bar for bar with the cinematically exquisite video, which shows the artist in a snowbound dreamscape, where he’s trapped with sultry women in a gothic mansion. We start with the young Future staring into a snowdome, then we flip from a trap house to the wildest of wonderlands. The clip is at times chilling and yet transfixing, imbuing the track with an otherworldly and psychedelic energy.

‘Crushed Up’ has already found its way into Spotify’s New Music Friday playlists in over 37 markets, including the US, and Canada, reaching the number 1 spot in both countries. It’s broken through to the #1 spot on several Apple Music playlists as well, including ‘Essentials’, ‘A-List Hip Hop’, ‘On Repeat’, ‘It’s Lit’, and many more. The song trended worldwide and went Number 1 on the #OnRepeat Playlist in the UK, Germany, France, South Africa, Mexico, and Japan.

‘Crushed Up’ is just one track from the forthcoming album, which marks the singer’s first solo album since his incredibly successful 2017 records, ‘Future’, and ‘Hndrxx’, and the absolute banger ‘Mask Off’. Altogether his previous releases serve as an firm foundation, giving the artist the momentum to go even bigger in 2019.

Future has also shared the details for his Official Documentary, ‘The WIZRD’, which debuts exclusively worldwide on Apple Music. The feature-length film follows the artist closely and peeks into corners of his world never-seen-before – until now. It opens up a window into his story and creativity unlike anything else. In order to properly launch ‘The WIZRD’, Future will personally host screenings with a Q&A and album listening in Los Angeles, tomorrow, January 8, at iPic Theaters, and New York on January 10, at iPic Theaters, Southstreet, Seaport. ‘The WIZRD’ will be officially released worldwide through Apple Music on January 11.

If that wasn’t enough, Future will also open a limited edition D2C store, with a brand new merchandise collection, also on January 11.
