Ea Kaya, the nom de plume of Danish singer, Christine Kiberg, follows up on the success of her singles released last year, with the magnificent ‘4AM’.
Still only 22, Ea Kaya had a string of critically praised singles in 2018, including ‘Remedy’, ‘Tied Up’, and ‘Don’t Complicate It’. The singer continues to define herself against the pop landscape with her songs which take a frank look at sex, love, and human nature, delivered with vast amounts of outspoken wisdom, suprising in one so young.
Born in Copenhagen, the singer/songwriter balances her incredible vocal performance with a slow-burning hook, growing into a sweeping chorus, which shall definitely attract more attention from critics and fans alike. Speaking about the track, Ea says,
“It’s a story about late nights and early mornings. We all know this person; X never contacts you sober on a weekday, You’re only interesting when the bar closes on a Saturday at 4 AM and nobody else is up for anything. You know inside that you deserve to be prioritised, but for some reason, you still open up when the doorbell rings…”
Ea Kaya is already making waves with acclaim from tastemakers such as Highsnobiety, Dummy, C-Heads, and House Of Solo, as well as a co-sign from BBC Radio 1s Annie Mac; she is being praised by the blogosphere and radio tastemakers alike as one of the most charismatic – and definitely Denmark’s most exciting – new talents in the future-pop genre. With her debut EP set for release later this year, 2019 is certainly looking like a milestone for Ea Kaya.
