The Essential Advent Calendar: December 17 – The Overtones Complete UK Tour Tomorrow Night 20 December At London Indigo

Since bursting onto the scene in 2010 with their debut, ‘Good Ol’ Fashioned Love’, The Overtones have sold over a million records. They released their self titled sixth studio album on October 19 this year, their first as a four-piece, since the death of their bandmate and friend, Timmy Matley, in April.

First track to be shared from the album, ‘You To Me Are Everything’, retained the group’s signature old-school cool, modern vintage vibe, and trademark vocal harmonies. They teamed up once again with producer Julian Hinton, and engineer Simon Bloor, to record a collection of thoughtfully chosen covers and originals, and released the album as a tribute to Timmy, a celebration of everything the group has achieved together, and a thank you to their loyal and supportive fans, as well as a statement of intent for the future.

Speaking of the album, The Overtones said,

“We are really proud of the new album and all it represents. Yes there are obviously songs for reflection and even sadness but there are also songs to put a smile on your face and get you up dancing. There’s a big mix of feelings and moods in this album which was certainly a challenge to express but we’re so proud of what we’ve achieved. This album means the world to us and we want it to mean something to the listener too.”

The group will put on a show tomorrow night, December 20, at London Indigo, in the O2, rounding off a 22 date tour which has seen them perform all over the UK. The tour has also seen extra matinee performances added due to popular demand.
