Gottweist – ‘Weight of the World’

Montreal rockers Gottweist formed in 2005, and are influenced by Iron Maiden and Bullet For My Valentine. Their latest single, ‘Weight Of The World’, is the lead single from their upcoming album.

Comprising Marco Lavigne on vocals and guitar, Alex Soucy on guitar and backing vocals, Alex Myers on bass, and Kevin Lacoste on drums, the other-worldly sounds of Gottweist have been heard at the likes of the Festival Rock Tes Regates de Valleyfield, among other shows in Quebec. Their first self-titled project was released in 2013, which they followed up with their debut album, ‘Future Is In Our Hands’, in 2015.

‘Weight Of The World’ comes with a music video shot in an abandoned factory. The snow lays all around, while Gottweist heats it up inside. Heavy guitar riffs and and strong drums compete with the vocals and roars of the band, spitting out lyrics such as “no more repression/they rip your soul/until you disappear”. The band is rugged up against the cold but there’s no need, they’re on fire and fill the clip with high powered energy.
