Tiny Fighter – ‘Want Friends’

Therese Karlsson and her partner Tim Spelman – aka Tiny Fighter – return with another song and another incredible music video. ‘Want Friends’ however sparks a change from their previous work in ‘New Century’, and ‘Hollow Talk’, but nonetheless furthers Tiny Fighter’s repuation as innovative video artists, and shows that they understand the big picture.

Karlsson and Spelman turned to another Stockholm artist, Tim Claxton, to help them with their latest video. A video director with long deep links to the Northern European alternative music scene, Claxton’s specialism is electrifying performance clips, and he’s made ones for Lower, The Beekeepers, and Midnighter, among others. Tiny Fighter’s clip sees Karlsson feature as the swaggering star, and entirely suits the mood of the song. Even Spelman, ordinarily quiet and reserved, gets involved in the action.

Tiny Fighter have, in less than 2 years, gone from an arty studio group to one who is capable of filling arenas. They’re making their way over to the US, where their ‘Want Friends’ video and single was launched this month, at Pianos, in New York City. Yesterday, Europe, today, the US, tomorrow, the world. Tiny Fighter isn’t that tiny anymore, but they’re definitely still fighters.
