Irish duo All Tvvins have today released, ‘Infinite Swim’, the follow-up to their September release, ‘Hell Of A Party’, and the precursor to their second album, ‘Just To Exist’, set for release early next year. The pair, comprising Conor Adams and Lar Kaye, also today announced that they shall be performing at their biggest Dublin headline show to date – April 13 at The National Stadium. Irish fans can see them before this date on November 16, at The Atlantic Bar, Portrush.
‘Infinite Swim’ is an upbeat disco funk track, calling to mind Chic, as well as Prince, alongside the band’s signature anthemic hook. The track, a well as the rest of the ‘Just To Exist’ album, was produced by their friend and collaborator, James Vincent McMorrow.
“I was delighted that my falsetto was strong,” adds Conor Adams, whose dedication to maximising the potential of his voice was richly rewarded. “I normally only use it for backing vocals where it’s buried, so it was nice to get it upfront and centre in the chorus.”
“There’s a definite salute to Talking Heads as well,” says Lar Kaye. “It just felt right.”
The title of the album, ‘Just To Exist’ comes from a line in ‘Infinite Swim’, and the album itself came about by an invitation from McMorrow to work on a new track. Over a two-day session the three created ‘Hell Of A Party’, and the eventual album’s course was set in motion, which was recorded over the winter. McMorrow served as producer, co-writer, and effectively, third member. Adams and Kaye rediscovered their joy in making music, and the reward was their best work yet.
Adams describes the album as,
“a snapshot of where we were, what we were going through and where we hope to go next.”
