Parcels Release Debut Self-Titled Album Today Ahead Of UK And Europe Tour Dates

Byron Bay school friends Parcels relocated to the creative hub of Berlin to further their musical journey. Now signed to Kitsune/Because, the band won a legion of fans with their early EPs, which showcased a compelling electro sound that was as forward thinking as it was retro sounding. Citing Beach Boys, Chic, and Steely Dan amongst their primary influences, the band’s self-titled debut album has a clear seventies feel, but does it hold enough weight within its 12 tracks to pack a powerful punch for international success?

The easy is answer is yes. ‘Parcels’ may be a slightly different record to the ones fans had anticipated, given it’s more expansive sound which deviates form their solely electro roots, but it is one that really leaves a lasting impression. A relaxed and nuanced soulful disco set, which opens with the playful tease of ‘Comedown’ and builds towards album highlight ‘Exotica’, before closing with the nostalgic authenticity of ‘Credits’.

Overall ‘Parcels’ is a stunning debut release, which will appeal to music listeners of all ages. Understated disco at its finest.
