Balt Getty x Nevve Release New Single, ‘Money’

Balt Getty started out as an actor in Hollywood, and is now an award winning producer. Teaming up with vocalist and composer Nevve, the pair are set to release their new single, ‘Money’, on December 14.

You’ll know his name – Balt Getty starred as Ralph in the 1990 film ‘Lord Of The Flies’, as well as roles in ‘Young Guns II’, ‘Natural Born Killers’, ‘Judge Dredd’, and ‘Mr Holland’s Opus’. He’s also a member of the famous Getty family, and is the son of John Paul Getty III. But it’s his music we’re concerned with here, and ‘Money’, is an upbeat comment on the role of money in the today’s modern culture, and its illusory nature. It’s a tongue in cheek look, and a fun take on hip hop, with a more party – pop even – atmosphere than other songs of the genre. The track opens with a bright piano sound, and a child’s voice, and goes on to underpin the vibrant melody with a heavy drum and bass backing. The song concludes with the realisation that money isn’t the be all and end all – you can have a good time without it.

Vocalist on the track, Nevve, has over 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone, and is best known for her debut song, which appeared on the game, ‘Monstercat’. This garnered her interest all over the world, and she now features on many other songs. What’s most intriguing is that her identity remains unknown, with this even the subject of a heated discussion on social news aggregator Reddit. Nevve has no social media presence, and this adds to the mystery of her identity.

‘Money’ will be available on Spotify from 14 December. You can find out more about Balt Getty on Twitter, Instagram, SoundCloud, and Spotify, as well as Purplehaus Music.
