PSYRUS – ‘Hitcher’

PSYRUS, who began their musical journey in 2016, look to bridge the gap between rock and EDM, taking the sounds of bands such as The Prodigy, and Pendulum, and add to that the music they grew up listening to – The Sex Pistols, GBH, and The Exploited. It worked too, the band have nearly 2 million fans.

Comprising Andrew K, Tony, Dmitry, and Sergey, PSYRUS, who hail from St Petersburg, Russia, look to have a hit on their hands with their latest single ‘Hitcher’, which comes with a most excellent video. Think Game Of Thrones, but with added reptilians, and outer space vodka shots. The clip sees America waiting with bated breath as NASA are about to become the first to set foot on Mars, taking the USA into the lead in the space race. However, once they arrive, they realise that the Russians have been there since forever, and have not simply set foot on The Red Planet, but they’ve also set up a party room, and a massage parlour. Oh yeah there’s green people playing reptilian chess as well. Crazy times!

The video for ‘Hitcher’ inspired Russian game developers to create a video game, which, according to Andrew K, is based on real hacker tech:

“Our music video caused a massive reaction in Russia, reaching actual hacking experts who offered to help with the video game script.”

Watch out for the twist in the clip as well – as the astronaut discovers all is not as it seems back home in America!
