Markus Schulz feat. Sebu (Capital Cities) – ‘Upon My Shoulders’

You’ll recall Markus Schulz’s last track, ‘Safe From Harm‘, the ballad he released with Emma Hewitt. Now he’s back with another fantastic artist, Sebu Simonian, of Capital Cities, for his latest song, ‘Upon My Shoulders’.

Markus Schulz has been releasing innovative electronic music for the past twenty years now and it’s garnered him the nickname of “the unicorn slayer of trance”. The artist, originally from Germany, is now based in Miami, Florida, where he is the founder of Coldharbour Recordings and Schulz Music Group, as well as the host of Global DJ Broadcast radio show. Schulz was named America’s number 1 DJ, by DJ Times in 2012, and in 2013, he teamed up with Dutch star, Ferry Corsten, creating New World Punx, debuting their live performance at the world famous Madison Square Garden.

Sebu, along with Ryan Merchant, released the first Capital Cities EP back in 2011, after writing music for commercials and ads for three years. ‘Safe And Sound’, from their 2013 album, ‘In A Tidal Wave Of Mystery’ (Capitol Records), won Best Visual Effects at the MTV EMAs, and reached the top 10 on Modern Rock Radio.

The video for ‘Upon My Shoulders’ is perfect for the end of summer. Directed by Adina Butar and Alex Ceausu, the clip showcases some of Southern California’s most iconic sights. With Sebu providing vocals on this track with the so so So-Cal sound, we see young people literally carrying each other on their shoulders, running across Venice Beach at sunset, at a pool party, or crusing down palm-tree lined streets. With the colours that can only be found in LA skies, the video fully conveys the feeling of summer.
