L.L.L – ‘Cold Blooded’ (Official Video)

Mention hip hop and you might automatically think an artist is from the US, or more recently the UK. But did you know there is a thriving hip hop and rap community in Ireland?

Low Life Luke is just one of a new wave of Irish hip hop artists, and he’s clearly proud of where he comes from. The video for ‘Cold Blooded’, directed, shot, and edited by Shane Doran, who also worked on Luke’s previous release, ‘Rising‘, leaves those who are familiar with Ireland in no doubt as to where this artist is from.

There’s shots of the Dublin docklands (specifically outside the Bord Gais Energy Theatre at Grand Canal):

…and also a magnificent view of the River Liffey looking towards the Convention Centre.
Luke even manages to get a mention of his hometown into the video as he visits the local petrol station:

Low Life Luke is part of a rising rap and hip hop movement in Ireland. There’s no pretension about him. ‘Cold Blooded’ has an old skool hip hop sound which could place Luke in mid 90s USA, but he sings in his own accent, and his confidence, and the pride in where he’s from is evident.
