Jaguar Dreams Are Made Of Electronica And The 80s With Debut Single ‘Just Life’

From Brooklyn New York comes Jaguar Dreams, an indie-rock band who make music you can dance to. Their debut original single, ‘Just Life’, was released on 22 August and comes with a lyric video made by the band themselves.

The trio claim that their musical influences are irrelevant, but they did write their first EP in a shack in the Amazon, so that likely serves as some form of inspiration, particularly in the name of the band. In their own words,
“Our collective life experiences are our influence. We don’t want to sound like anybody, we want to sound like everybody.”
‘Just Life’ opens with a buzzing electronic sound before the entrance of the vocals, which themselves have a slight reverb to them. If you’re familiar with Peppermint Heaven (and we’ve written about them a lot so we should definitely hope so!) then you’ll find a similarity in their sound. There’s also a strong 80s vibe, but again, this takes us back to the band’s statement that they want to sound like everybody.

Jaguar Dreams’ previous release, as heard on their SoundCloud, is a stunningly ethereal cover of the Fleetwood Mac classic, ‘Dreams‘, and that’s definitely worth checking out too.
You can find out more about Jaguar Dreams online on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Stream ‘Just Life’ on Spotify.
