Adina E – ‘I Couldn’t Help Myself’

Adina E – real name Adina Even-Zohar – seamlessly blends indie sound production with stunningly compelling visuals to fully convey her overall artistic vision. Adina E grew up in New York City and now lives in Israel. Her latest single, ‘I Couldn’t Help Myself’, is from her new album.

The video for ‘I Couldn’t Help Myself’ tells the tale of a broken relationship which is beyond repair. It’s an animated clip, with hand-drawn stick figures created by the award-winning animator and director, Yoni Goodman. They’re reflective drawings taking a journey in time through the self. It’s Adina’s diary come to life, giving an insight into her struggles and looking back at what she’s gone through, and at the same time what she can conquer.

The video closes with a rainbow, the significance being that even when a story has once been rife with sorrow, there’s always hope for a happy ending.
